I took the hull out of my tent to scrape and sand it before fiberglassing. The joints between the planks have been filled as well as the stitches holes.

I have opened the Skerry's sailing kit. On the left, the two pieces of the mast, made of three laminations. The scarf is cut and ready to glue. On the right, the boom in one piece and the sprit also ready to be glued. In between, the rigging hardware, the sail and all the wooden parts: daggerboard, rudder, mast foot.   Gluing up the daggerboard well. The side of the well is "buttered" with thickened epoxy to protect the plywood.

Gluing the two halves of the skeg. I put it on top of the hull to take advantage of the heating under the hull.   I also epoxied the inside of the rudder cheeks, because they will "sandwich" the pivoting blade later on.   Positionning the glass cloth on the hull, covering the sole and garboards.

The cloth is saturated with epoxy and the miracle happens again: the cloth becomes invisible (I work hard to keep a simple mind!)   Mission accomplished! The cloth edge is cut in the joint between plank 1 and 2.   A 10 cm wide fiberglass stripe is applied to the stem and the stern. The grey box under the hull is a blow-heater: the temperature is still only 10°C : I have to gain 5° for the epoxy to cure.
