Difference between "complete" kits and "wood only" kits

To answer a frequently asked (and natural) question, here are more explanations about the contents of the kits.

In common in both types of kits:

  • Plans and building manual (English and French)
  • Wood parts: all marine plywood is okoume unless otherwise specified (sapelle for some parts) cut on a CNC machine for high precision.
  • Dimensional wood is also cut to size (sheerstrakes for instance.)

In addition in the complete kits:

  • Epoxy resin in sufficient quantity to glue, saturate and stratify
  • Glassfiber cloth and multi-directional stripe to stratify and strengthen the hull. For kayaks, there is cloth for the decks as well.
  • Copper wire for stitches, bronze and stainless steel screws and brads, and complete hardware for fittings. In the kayak kits, the whole deck rigging is included, with line, shock cord and fastenings.)
  • For the kayaks kits, the seat is included, as well as the backrest, and the adjustable foot braces (according to models).

In short, the complete kit is intended to contains all you need to obtain a finished boat, with the exception of the paint and varnish.

You can also buy the "complete kit" without epoxy (resin, hardener and thickener).

ATTENTION : think carefully about where you can find everything and at what price...
